Rapper Zuluboy plans to launch a washing soap product.
Born Mxolisi Majozi, he is constantly being referred to on social media as “dirty and unkempt” and this has become an inspiration for a new business venture.
The hip-hop star and actor is taking his brand to another level with this bold step of turning his criticism into positivity.
After posting his photo alongside that of poet-singer and academic Ntsiki Mazwai on social media, trolls criticized them saying he and Mazwai saved water by not taking a bath.
The soap product targets taxi drivers and is expected to come in different bright colours. He said the product is part of the male-grooming range he planned to release in future.
“There is this perception that I don’t wash. Recently, I was told that I don’t take a bath because I am saving water. That did not bother me,” Zuluboy said.
“The soap smells nice like other soaps. It can be used by both men and women. I have included some traditional herbs such as impepho and herbs that are used to wash away bad luck.”
The product will be launched in September.
In other news, Zuluboy is set to release a new album which will feature New York star M-1, and Sifiso Ncwane and Mandoza – both who have since died with songs recorded before their deaths.
